White Lake will be buzzing with activity as the 40th annual White Lake Water Festival takes place Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th. One of the many highlights of this year’s water festival is the D. C. Faircloth Watersports Evolution Show.

The best view for the water show will be from Goldston’s Pier or Goldston’s Beach. 

The weekend kick will off with the Elizabethtown Rotary Club conducting their 2nd annual Rotary International Cup Captain’s Choice Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 17, at 1:30 p.m. at The Vineyard Golf Course at White Lake. 

On Friday evening there will be a Classic Car Cruise in at 6:30 p.m. and a street dance featuring the Soul on the Beach band from 6 until 9 p.m. at Goldston’s Beach. There will be an award for the Best In Show for the Cruise-in.

The Bladen County Firefighters Association Honor Guard will hold a pancake plate sale at the White Lake Fire Department from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday.

The annual White Lake Water Festival parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Miss North Carolina Victoria Huggins will be the 2018 Parade Grand Marshal. There will also be a meet and greet with Miss North Carolina at Goldston’s Restaurant at 12 noon.

There will be a Classic Car Show held on US 701 across from the Scotchman. Registration for the car show is from 8 a.m. until noon. Cost to enter is $20 per car and judging begins at noon. Also, at the US 701 location, there will also be antique tractors on display.

White Lake Fire Department will hold their annual Barbecue Plate Sale beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. Cost is $7.99 per plate. The department has given a special thank you to Smithfield and Rhonda Campbell for assisting with donations from Smithfield.

There will be a 4 vs. 4 Co-Ed Volleyball tournament at Camp Clearwater beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. For more information on the volleyball tournament, go to https://www.eastsidevball.com/wlwf-tournament. 

There will be T-shirts for sale commemorating the 40th annual White Lake Water Festival at a cost of $12 each. They will be available at Camp Clearwater, Goldston’s Beach Gift Shop and Goldston’s Lake Shore.

The lake stage and the main stage will host a variety of entertainment groups. There will be vendors, a wrestling arena and more throughout the day on Saturday.

Saturday evening there will be a dance at Goldston’s Beach at the James Melvin Stage featuring the band Hip Pocket from 9 p.m. until midnight. For more information view the brochure:
