FAIRMONT – Sophomore Dashawn Hines and freshman Shy’Ron Adams combined for five touchdowns Thursday night as West Bladen’s Knights opened their jayvee football season with a 39-12 victory over Fairmont in a Three Rivers Conference game.
Hines, a running back, ran for two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion and also caught a touchdown pass from Adams. Adams, a quarterback, passed for the touchdown to Hines and also carried into the end zone for two more rushing touchdowns.
Sophomore Nyjae Tate also ran for a 2-point conversion.
Adams led the Knight defense with two pass interceptions, and sophomore Nijeah McKoy picked off one Fairmont pass.
The Knight jayvees will host Red Springs next week.
