DUBLIN – Freshman Jordan Kinlaw pitched a 5-hitter and struck out 9 batters to lead East Bladen to a 13-7 jayvee softball victory over West Bladen Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference action.

Sophomore Lorna Mendell and freshman Carlie West drew walks in the East Bladen first inning before Kinlaw knocked in Mendell with a single.

The Lady Knights pulled even with a run in the bottom of the inning. Katelynn Tatum led off with a single, advanced on an error and scored the tying run on Katie Guyton’s fielder’s choice.

In the East Bladen second, Lila McDuffie and Grey Guy drew walks, and Alyann Gregg was hit by a pitch. Mendell reached base on an error that scored McDuffie and Gregg.

Nesiah Davis-McKoy and Carlie West were hit by pitches that forced home Grey Guy. Kinlaw smacked a single that scored Mendell and Davis-McKoy. Kinlaw later scored to stretch the East lead to 7-1.

McDuffie and Gregg drew walks to start the East Bladen third inning, and both of them later scored to pad the lead to 9-1.

In the West Bladen fourth inning, Tinyauh Rhoda walked, Emily Pait was hit by a pitch, and Amelia Brisson reached base on a passed third strike. All three of them came around to score and slice the East lead to 9-4.

Adrienne Howell swatted a double to begin the Lady Eagle fifth inning. McDuffie walked, and Gregg was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Grey Guy and Lexie Guy drew walks that forced home Howell and McDuffie. Mendell knocked in Gregg and Grey Guy with a single that grew the lead to 13-4.

In the Lady Knight fifth inning, Taylor West reached base on a passed third strike. Katie Guyton and Pait belted singles that scored West. Armani Cowan was hit by a pitch, and Summer Addington knocked in Pait and Cowan with a double.

Kinlaw batted 2-3 with a run batted in and a run scored. Howell doubled and scored. Mendell singled, scored twice and drove in 2 runs. McDuffie and Gregg scored 3 runs each. Carlie West, Grey Guy and Lexie Guy drove in a run each. Grey Guy scored twice and Davis-McKoy scored a run.

Pait batted 2-2 with an rbi and 2 runs scored. Addington slugged the 2-run double. Tatum and Guyton added one hit each. Tatum, West, Rhoda, Cowan and Brisson scored one run each. Guyton drove in a run.

West struck out five batters and allowed 4 hits, 10 walks and 4 hit batters.

West Bladen will travel to Fairmont Wednesday.
