DUBLIN – Wallace-Rose Hill defeated West Bladen 19-7 Wednesday night in non-conference softball action.
The Lady Knights scored a trio of first-inning runs. Senior Abby Dawson swatted a single to right-centerfield, and sophmore Kyla Reed slammed a double to left-centerfield. Sophmore Alara Cashwell lifted a sacrifice fly to rightfield that plated Abby Dawson.
Reed darted home on junior Carley Dawson’s infield hit. Senior Madison Collins yanked a single to leftfield, and Carley Dawson scooted home on a wild pitch.
Senior Alise Pait pulled a single down the leftfield line to begin the Lady Knight second inning. Reed walked, and Cashwell hammered a double to left-centerfield that scored Pait and Reed. Collins knocked in Elizabeth Allbright, the courtesy runner for Cashwell, with a single to right-centerfield.
Carley Dawson led off the West Bladen fourth with a single to right-centerfield, and Collins walloped a double to centerfield that scored Carley Dawson.
Reed batted 3-3 with a double and 2 runs scored to lead the West Bladen hitters. Collins finished with a 3-4 game at the plate that included a double and 2 runs batted in. Carley Dawson batted 2-3 with an rbi and 2 runs scored.
Abby Dawson scored a run and turned in a 2-3 game at the plate. Cashwell slugged a double and drove in 2 runs. Pait singled and scored, and Allbright scored a run.
West Bladen returns to Three Rivers Conference play Friday night at Whiteville.
