New head coach Billy Bryant has announced that West Bladen women’s tennis tryouts will begin Monday at 6 p.m. and will be held each evening from 6-7:30 p.m. through Friday, August 3rd.
Try-out participants must have a current physical on file with the school. Practices will begin the following week and continue in preparation before the season-opening match at St. Pauls on August 13th.
Bryant is transitioning into the head coach job after serving as an assistant coach at the school under previous coaches Jeff Atkinson and Mary Catherine White.
Last year the Lady Knights finished with a 16-3 record. Coach Bryant has high expectations for this season but noted, “We suffered a big blow when our number one player (Conner Brisson) tore her ACL, but we have some players that are ready to step up, so I think we will have a great year.”
