WHITEVILLE – Whiteville defeated East Bladen 3-0 on Thursday night in the Three Rivers Conference opener for both teams by set scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-14.
Junior Kayleigh Raynor pounded in eight kills, a block, an ace and had three digs for East Bladen. Senior teammate Cybil Campbell hammered in eight kills, a block and added three digs. Senior Lorna Mendell slammed in six kills, four blocks, an ace and two service points.
Freshman Acee Campbell knocked in five kills, five blocks and had four digs for the Lady Eagles. Junior Cheylee Mathis racked up four kills, three blocks and a dig. Senior Lila McDuffie swatted in a kill and a block.
Junior Sara Gargala contributed a block and a dig, junior Katie Evans and senior Abbie Cross added one block each.
East Bladen will host South Columbus on Tuesday.
