WHITEVILLE – Whiteville defeated East Bladen 2-0 on Thursday in the Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball opener for both teams by set scores of 25-14 and 25-13.
Freshman Karli Priest knocked in five service points for East Bladen, and teammate Cydney Campbell slammed in two kills, a service point and had three digs. Freshman Maegan Burney fired in two service points, a kill and had two digs.
Annette Munoz finished with two service points, an ace and a dig for the Lady Eagles. Sophomore Merritt Martin drilled in two service points. Freshman AnnaGrey Heustess and Emma Turbeville contributed one kill and one dig each.
East Bladen will host South Columbus Tuesday.
