ELIZABETHTOWN – Fernando Rebollar drilled in the deciding goal that lifted Elizabethtown to a 2-1 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer victory Thursday over Whiteville Central.

With 12 minutes left to play and the score tied 1-1, Elizabethtown’s Tevin McClean earned a penalty kick, and Rebollar hammered in the shot. McClean fired in a first-half goal to give the Cougars an early lead. Central tied the score just before halftime.

Rebollar also recorded the victory in goal for Elizabethtown.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Cougars improved to 5-1 and solidified their hold on first place in the league’s AA Division. The Cougars will travel to West Columbus on Monday.
