The Bladen County All-Stars will begin play in the North Carolina Dixie Youth Baseball State Coach-Pitch Tournament in Pembroke at 12:30 p.m. Saturday against Leland.
On Friday night the Bladen County team will be one of 16 teams taking part in the tournament’s opening ceremonies that will begin at 8 p.mat the Pembroke Sports Complex located at 7164 NC-711
At 7:10 all 16 teams will be involved in an “Around the Horn” competition. Following the opening ceremonies, the evening will conclude with a fireworks show.
If Bladen County wins against Leland, they will advance to a 5 p.m. game Saturday against the Reidsville/Lumberton National winner. The Bladen Co./Leland loser will play the Reidsville/Lumberton National loser at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the double-elimination event.
Members of Coach Joseph Russ’ Bladen County All-Stars are: Jonah Bryan, Hunter Hester, Aiden Russ, Neveah Singletary, Cade Allen, Malikah Moore, Conner Monroe, Emmanuel Drew, Chason Harris, Richard Severine, Tyler Jacobs, and Joshua Strickland.
