LAKE WACCAMAW – East Columbus defeated West Bladen 2-0 Thursday by set scores of 25-20 and 25-21 in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action.
Makayla Wright hammered in 5 kills, a service point and had one assist for West. Gracie Faircloth fired in 7 service points that included 4 aces. Sophia Masaid knocked in 6 service points that included 4 aces and had 2 digs.
Kaitlyn Brisson slammed in 2 kills, 4 service points and had 3 digs for the Lady Knights. Trinity Meares pounded in 3 kills. Kennedy Carroll dished out 3 assists and added an ace, a kill and a dig.
Karly Ross was credited with 3 digs and a service point for the visitors. Kylie Durden drilled in an ace and had one dig, and Shanyla Hunter contributed 2 digs.
The Lady Knights, now 1-2 in the TRC and 3-3 overall, will travel to Whiteville Thursday.
