BLADENBORO – Red Springs connected on six 3-point shots in the 1st half as the Red Devils built a 51-32 lead en route to an 84-72 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over West Bladen Thursday night.
Senior Brian Foulks tallied 13 of his game-high 19 points for the Red Devils before halftime. Junior Noah Chavis bombed in 4 first half 3-balls and finished with 16 points. Senior Jowuan Baker totaled 15 points, and senior Corell Love and junior Kris Oxendine tallied 11 points each.
Donovan Stone, Keshaun Ballard, and ShyRon Adams nailed 3-point shots in the 1st period for the Knights. Stone also sank 2 free throws, and Josh Lewis and Javonta Matthews threw in baskets.
Sophomore Gary Parker popped in a basket and 2 free throws, and Josiah Brown drained a 3-point shot for the Knights in the 2nd quarter. Matthews, Lewis, Ballard and sophomore Deonte Lacey dropped in baskets, and Ballard and Adams hit free throws.
Matthews pumped in 2 baskets and a free throw in the 3rd period, and freshman Andre Moore drilled in a 3-pointer and another basket. Ballard buried a 3-point shot, Adams tossed in a basket and a free throw, and Stone flipped in a basket as West pulled to within 67-50.
Anthony Mitchell blistered the nets with a trio of 3-point baskets for the Knights in the final quarter. Brown connected for a basket and a trio of free throws. Adams delivered a basket and a free throw, Parker and Matthews added baskets, and Lewis made a free throw.
Matthews led the Knight scoring with 11 points. Adams posted 10 points, and Mitchell and Ballard followed with 9 points each. Brown finished with 8 points, and Stone scored 7 points.
The Knights will travel to East Columbus Friday night.
