The Rockets exploded for 6 runs in the top of the 6th inning to defeat the Bandits 10-5 Monday night in Bladen Recreation 8-10 Softball action.

The teams were tied 4-4 after 5 innings, and Heaven Spillers was placed at 2nd base as part of the international tiebreaker rule to begin the sixth. Carley Rhodes smacked a single, and Adyson Carroll belted a double as Spillers and Rhodes scored for a 6-4 Rocket lead.

Maycee Kinlaw slammed a 2-run home run to left field that scored Carroll and stretched the Rocket lead to 8-4. Harper Allen and Abbey Nance cracked singles and scored runs as the lead grew to 10-4. Shamiha Daughtry was placed at 2nd base for the Bandits and scored a run in the bottom of the inning.

Kinlaw struck out 15 batters in her 6 innings in the circle for the Rockets. Laikyn Rogerson struck out 9 batters for the Bandits.

Carroll singled in the Rocket 1st inning and raced home when Kinlaw drilled a triple to left-center field. Kinlaw later scored for a 2-0 lead. In the home half of the inning, Keri Faye Burgess was hit by a pitch, and Caity McLaurin and Rogerson smashed singles. Burgess and McLaurin both scored to tie the game 2-2.Carroll led off the Rocket 4th inning with a single, and Kinlaw crushed a 2-run homer to left-center to put the Rockets ahead 4-2. Burgess singled, and McLaurin knocked her in with a double to left.

McLaurin later scored to knot the score 4-4.Kinlaw slugged the 2 homers and the triple and drove in 5 runs for the Rockets. Carroll batted 3-for-3 with a double and 3 runs scored. Elizabeth Miller also had a hit for the Rockets. McLaurin batted 2-for-2 with a double and 2 runs scored for the Bandits.
