BLADENBORO – Bladenboro had an apparent tying touchdown disallowed right before halftime, and West Columbus pulled away in the 2nd half for a 28-8 Waccamaw Middle School Conference football victory Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs jumped in front early as Kendell Lesane banged into the end zone from 6 yards out to cap the opening drive of the game. Sincere McKinley ran the 2-point conversion for an 8-0 lead.
West Columbus bounced back to take a 14-8 lead. Lesane carried into the end zone for another touchdown just before halftime, but it was nullified by an inadvertent whistle and the Vikings retained the 14-8 halftime lead.
The Vikings tacked on 2 more touchdowns in the 2nd half, and Bladenboro was unable to rally. The Bulldogs, now 1-2, will host East Columbus Tuesday night.
