TABOR CITY – Maycee Kinlaw pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 8 batters in just 3 innings as Bladenboro rolled to a 19-2 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory Tuesday over Tabor City.
Allison Hickman walloped a lead-off home run to give the Lady Bulldogs a quick 1-0 lead, but 2 walks and Maggie’s double vaulted Tabor City ahead 2-1 in the home first. Bladenboro answered with 11 runs in the 2nd inning and 7 more in the 3rd inning.
Hickman finished 2-for-2 at the plate with the home run, a walk and 3 runs scored. Kinlaw walked, reached on an error and scored 3 runs. Hadley Dove belted a single, was hit by pitches twice, walked and scored 2 runs. Catcher Karlee Gause smacked a single, was twice hit by pitches and scored twice. Giovanna Spaulding was hit by pitches 3 times and scored a run.
Diyari McKoy cracked a single for Bladenboro. Hailii Andrews walked and scored. Ashley Rivon walked twice, was hit by a pitch and scored 3 runs. Lily Hester was hit by a pitch and scored twice. Cheyenne Reinhart was hit by pitches twice, walked and scored twice. Kristen Singletary walked, Brooklynn McKee was hit by a pitch and Chloe Walters reached base on an error.
Twelve Bladenboro batters were hit by pitches, and the Lady Bulldogs also capitalized on 5 hits, 4 Tabor City errors, and 8 walks.
Coach Otis Evans’ Lady Bulldogs will travel to Williams Township Thursday.
