TABOR CITY – Corben Chadwick pitched a no-hitter and struck out 16 batters Tuesday to lead Bladenboro to an 8-0 victory over Tabor City in their Waccamaw Middle School Conference opener.

Luke Bryant walked and Ashton Davis belted a single to right-center field in the Bulldog 1st inning. A pair of Eagle errors plated both runners for a 2-0 Bladenboro lead. Davis walked and scored on Chadwick’s fielder’s choice in the 3rd inning for a 3-0 lead. Davis walked and scored again on an error in the 5th inning.

The Bulldogs put the game away with a 4-run 6th inning. Chase Bryan was hit by a pitch, and Davis drilled a single to center field. Chadwick laced a single to center, and Devan Stanley walked. Cole Brisson then ripped a single to left-center field. Bryan, Davis, Chadwick and Stanley all scored in the inning.

Davis batted 2-for-2, walked twice and scored 4 runs to lead the Bulldog hitters. Chadwick, Stanley, Bryan, Sawyer King and Brisson all connected for 1 hit each. Chadwick, Stanley, Bryan and Bryant scored 1 run each.

Only 5 runners reached base for the Eagles – all on walks.

Coach Tim Benton’s Bulldogs will travel to Williams Township Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game. The game was moved from Thursday due to a scheduling conflict.
