DUNN – A 4-run, 3rd inning rally propelled Midway to a 6-4 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee baseball victory over East Bladen Tuesday night.

A walk, a hit batter, an error and doubles by Wilson Mayo and Wyatt Scott keyed the Raider rally. Camden Wilson batted 3-for-3 to lead the Midway hitters. Scott and teammate Jackson Campbell both finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Colton Daly and Aidan Hargrove drew walks in the East Bladen 2nd inning, and Andrew Musselwhite smacked a single to right-center field that scored Daly. Hargrove scored on Easton Bostic’s fielder’s choice to tie the game 2-2.

Davion Lewis was hit by a pitch in the Eagle 3rd inning and raced home when Cole Butler laced a single to left field that edged East ahead 3-2. Butler walked, stole 2 bases and scored the final Eagle run in the 5th inning.

Musselwhite batted 2-for-2 with a run batted in to lead the Eagle hitters. Hargrove singled and scored a run. Butler singled, had 1 RBI and a run scored. Lewis and Daly scored runs, and Bostic had 1 RBI.

Butler pitched an 8-hitter, struck out 6, walked 2 and hit 3 batters for the Eagles.

The Eagles, now 0-1 in the SAC-7 and 3-1 overall, will host Midway Friday in a rematch at Russell Priest Field.
