ELIZABETHTOWN – Mollie Sasser and Makynzee Thompson pitched a combined no-hitter and struck out 8 batters Tuesday to lead the Force to a 12-2 victory over the Thunder in Bladen County Recreation 11-13 Softball League action.

Sasser struck out 8 batters, walked 3, hit one and allowed 2 runs. Thompson pitched a scoreless 4th inning, walked 2 batters and hit one. An unassisted double play by 1st baseman Addison Douglas highlighted the inning.

Chloe Merritt and Thompson started the Force 1st inning with walks, and both scored as Sasser lined a single to centerfield. Douglas, Zariah Dill, Chloe Mazur, and Ava Gillespie all drew walks, and Sasser, Douglas, Dill and Mazur all scored to put the Force up 6-0.

Anna Robinson, Kylee Spaulding, Legacy McNeil and Kiera Dowless all drew walks in the Thunder 2nd inning, and Robinson and Spaulding scored to trim the margin to 6-2.

Lilly Wells, Merritt, Thompson and Douglas all drew walks and Sasser was hit by a pitch in the Force 2nd inning. Wells, Merritt and Thompson all scored to push the lead to 9-2.

Dill, Mazur, Gillespie, Wells, Merritt and Thompson all drew walks in the Force 3rd inning, and Dill, Mazur and Gillespie all scored to stretch the lead to 12-2.

Emma Adams pitched 2 innings and struck out 1 batter for the Thunder. Marissa Hall pitched the other inning.
