BLADENBORO – Bladenboro swept a Dixie Ponytails softball doubleheader from Tar Heel by scores of 3-1 and 9-3 Tuesday night at McLean Park.

Bladenboro scored all 3 of their runs in the 1st inning. Maycee Kinlaw, Anna Claire Walters, Camryn Wood and Bella Beard drew walks, and Kynzlee Wood smacked a single. Kinlaw, Anna Claire Walters and Kynzlee Wood all scored.

Abby Dicicco and Laikyn Rogerson belted singles in the Tar Heel 2nd inning. Shelby reached base on an error, Sierra walked, and Maddie was hit by a pitch. Dicicco scored the Tar Heel run.

Dicicco, Rogerson, Breelyn Peed, Kenley Smeigh and Hayleigh Simmons connected for 1 single each for Tar Heel. Peed pitched a 1-hitter, struck out 8 and walked 4 for Tar Heel.

Hadley Dove scattered 5 hits and 7 walks, but only allowed 1 run while striking out 3 for Bladenboro.

Bladenboro 9, Tar Heel 3

A 6-run 3rd inning rally snapped a 3-3 tie and carried Bladenboro to a 9-3 victory over Tar Heel in the 2nd game. Kaydence Moretz led off with a single and scored when Kinlaw walloped a 2-run home run. Hadley Dove walked, and Anna Claire Walters knocked her in with a double.

Camryn Wood laced a single that scored Anna Claire Walters then raced home when Bristol Allen slammed a double. Allen later scored to stretch the lead to 9-3.

Rogerson led off the game with a single, and Ryleigh and Smeigh drew walks, and Brissa reached base on an error that scored Rogerson.

Dove and Anna Claire Walters drilled singles, and both of them scored in the 1st inning to edge Bladenboro ahead 2-1. Bella Beard and Kylee Davenport both walked in the 2nd inning, and Hailii Andrews ripped a single that scored Beard and padded the Bladenboro lead to 3-1.

Tar Heel tied the game 3-3 with 2 runs in the 3rd inning. Peed smashed a double, and Jayden followed with a single. An error on the play scored both Peed and Jayden.

Kinlaw pitched a 3-hitter, struck out 7 batters and walked 4 to pick up the win. Peed and Rogerson split the pitching duties for Tar Heel.

Anna Claire Walters batted 2-for-2 with a double and 2 runs scored. Kinlaw slugged the 2-run homer. Allen doubled, and Moretz, Andrews, Camryn Wood and Dove contributed 1 single each.
