ELIZABETHTOWN – The Elizabethtown Dixie Youth Baseball Tournament Championship game between the Cubs and Braves was rained out Monday night and will not be rescheduled.
League officials cited the need to go ahead and choose the league’s all-star teams that will compete in the District 9 Majors Tournament and a credentials meeting for that tournament that is scheduled for Thursday night as reasons for not making up the game.
The championship game was originally slated for last Wednesday night, but an extra play-off game to decide the regular season title was needed and that pushed the tournament finale to Monday night.
