Farrell and Larrell Murchison turned in solid performances Sunday to help lead their undefeated Louisburg Hurricanes to a 68-13 football victory over the Averett University jayvees in Danville, VA.

Farrell Murchison carried the ball 12 times for 135 yards and a touchdown. Larrell Murchison made 3 solo tackles from his defensive line position – one of those tackles was for a 2-yard loss.

After Averett scored to trim the Louisburg lead to 21-13 early in the second quarter, Farrell broke loose for a 35 yard run to the Averett 5 yardline. The Hurricanes scored two plays later to boost their lead to 28-13.

Later in the quarter, Farrell Murchison reeled off runs of 14, 6 and 11 yards to spark an 82-yard Hurricane scoring drive. Farrell also caught an 11-yard pass during the drive.

On the third play of the Hurricanes’ second possession of the second half, Farrell Murchison raced 47 yards for a touchdown.

Louisburg, the No. 14 team in the latest NJCAA poll, improves to 7-0 with the victory and will host Nassau Community College in their season finale at 1 p.m. Saturday.
