The Glory completed an undefeated season Tuesday night with an 8-6 victory over the Sandpipers in Bladen Recreation 11-12 Softball League action at County Park. The game was actually a forfeit as the Sandpipers didn’t have enough players.

The Sandpipers scored a first inning run when Acee Campbell beat out an infield hit and came around to score on Alexus Mitchell’s infield hit.

The Glory answered with 6 runs in the bottom of the first. Lauren Bowen walked, and Kayleigh Raynor was hit by a pitch. Alyssa Futtell drove in Bowen with an infield hit.

Merritt Martin walked and Hannah Cole, Luz Ramos and Weslyn Hall were all hit by pitches. Raynor, Futrell, Martin, Cole and Ramos all scored runs in the inning.

The Sandpipers scored twice in the second to trim the lead to 6-3. Campbell was hit by a pitch, and Lainey Autry was safe on an  infield grounder. Campbell scored on an error, and Autry scored on Mitchell’s single.

Raynor drilled a ground-rule down the leftfield line to start the Force second inning. Futrell walloped an inside-the-park home run to leftfield that stretched the lead to 8-3.

Briley Stanley walked and Kayla Norris was hit by a pitch in the Sandpiper third inning. Campbell belted a double that scored both runners and sliced the lead to 8-5.

AnnaGrey Heustess reached base on an infield hit in the fourth inning and scored the final Sandpiper run.

Campbell and Mitchell both batted 2-3 with 2 runs batted in each to lead the Sandpiper hitters. Autry and Heustess had one hit each.

Futrell batted 2-2 with the home run and 3 rbi’s to lead the Glory hitters. Raynor slammed the double for the other Glory hit.
