The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce holds a monthly meeting for chamber members. Anne Byer welcomed chamber members to the September meeting held in the WorkForce Building at Bladen Community College. 

Terri Dennison, Executive Director of the Chamber, announced upcoming concerts and activities the Chamber will be hosting. On the first Friday in October, the Chamber will hold the third performance in the Sunset Concerts series featuring North Tower. The event will be held at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market located at 106 M.L.K. Drive, in Elizabethtown, NC. 

Denise Bridgers with Lu Mil Vineyard announced on October 9th, Lu Mil Vineyard in Dublin will host their 15th Annual NC Grape Festival. Admission is free and open to the public from both the concert and the festival.

Getting down to business, Bladen Community College President Dr. Amanda Lee was the guest speaker at the monthly lunch and learned. She explained what Bladen Community College has to offer the community. 

Bladen Community College offers college transfer degrees and has agreements with many four-year colleges and universities to facilitate a smooth transfer. The college offers a variety of vocational and technical certificates, diplomas, and degrees for students planning to enter the workforce. Not to forget, the college’s Continuing Education classes and programs assist students with learning English, earning high school equivalencies, preparing for a specific job skill or credential, starting your own business, as well as classes for personal enrichment.

Dr. Lee provided the following fast facts about BCC to those who attended the event. 

The Headcount Enrollment in FALL 2020 was 1134, and in SPRING 2021 was 1023. The age average was 24.

BCC offers 35 Associate Degrees, 16 Diplomas, 56 Certificates. (Online and seated.)

  • 238 Total Graduates (148 associate degrees, 17 diplomas, 73 certificates.)
