The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown. 

The consent items on the agenda include the proposed agenda, minutes of April 16, 2018 special meeting, minutes of April 16, 2018 regular meeting, minutes of April 18, 2018 special meeting, minutes of April 30, 2018 special meeting, budget amendments, county attorney invoices totaling $3,824, NCACC Risk Pool Workers Compensation and General Liability Insurance Renewals for FY 2018-19, National Nurses Week Proclamation, Memorandum of Agreement with County of New Hanover, NC regarding the donation of a 16′ enclosed Public Safety Rehabilitation trailer, Juvenile Crime Prevention Council FY 2018-19 Budget, Amendment No. 3 to Contract No. 6786 with North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Regarding Lock and Dam No. 2 & No. 3 Fish Passage Projects.

The Commissioners will also present a proclamation for National Nurses Week. 

The board will conduct a public hearing to receive comments regarding a rezoning request on a property located at 3731 Cromartie Road from RA (residential-agricultural) to Commercial for use for a commercial storage building. Following the public hearing, the board will either approve or disapprove the measure. 

The board will also hear from Cape Fear Resource Conservation and Development Inc.’s Executive Director Danielle Darkangelo, Bladen Community College President Dr. William Findt, and Bladen County Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor and Finance Director Sharon Penny. 

The board also consider approving a contract for the fiscal year 2017-18 audit with Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams and Company. The board will also be asked to approve an audit fo the Medicaid Intake and Eligibility Determination Process for 2017-18.

The board will be asked to consider approving a letter of engagement regarding audit of the Local Governmental Employees Retirement System accounts for 2017-18. 

The board will hear requests from Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker to consider adopting a resolution of support for development of a driver training facility and to consider approving a memorandum of understanding and supporting permits for a US Marine Corps Training exercise scheduled for July 30 through August 1, 2018. 

The board will be asked by Bladen County Emergency Management Director Bradley Kinlaw to consider approving a Memorandum of Agreement with the NC Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management Regarding Bladen County DRA 17 Mitigation Project

The board will also hear an update regarding administration and management of ongoing Hurricane Matthew mitigation programs.

The board will be asked to enter into session as the Bladen County Water District and consider adopting a Local Water Supply Plan for East Bladen 03-09-060 for the Bladen County Water District. The board will also be asked to consider adopting a Local Water Supply Plan for West Bladen 03-09-055 for the Bladen County Water District.

The board will be asked to make an appointment to the Keep Bladen Beautiful advisory board.
