*Area Chairmen were named for the Cystic Fibrosis Research Fund in Bladen County. They were Mrs. Glenn Cain (Bladenboro), Alton W. Taylor (Dublin), and Clarkton Jaycettes (Clarkton).
*Lt. Governor Jim Hunt was the Keynote Speaker at a regional meeting of the North Carolina Jaycees held at White Lake.
*Five people in Bladen County were charged with violations of the North Carolina control substance law.
