Attorney General Robert Morgan was the main speaker at the Elizabethtown Jaycee DSA banquet.
Robert G. Hester received the DSA award and Jerry Johnson was named the Outstanding Young Farmer in Bladen County.
Larry Barnes was the new North Carolina Forest Service Investigator in Bladen County.
Clarkton’s Dr. Guy Owen, who was a professor at North Carolina State University, was awarded two of the top Literary Awards in North Carolina. They were for the Outstanding Novel “Journey For Joedel” and the Outstanding Poem “The White Stallion And Other Poems” Dr. Owen was the writer of “The Flim Flam Man”
