Due to many residents returning home from shelters, we will be consolidating all shelters into one location, which will be:
Booker T. Washington Primary School:
Located at 66 Booker T. Washington Rd, Clarkton, NC 28433.
Shelter Closings:
The East Arcadia Shelter will be closing at 11:00 am today, September 22, 2018.
The West Bladen Shelter will be closing at 11:00 am today, September 22, 2018.
Anyone in need of a shelter, can go to Booker T. Washington Primary School
This shelter is still designated as our special needs and pet friendly shelter.
The Bladen County Emergency Operations Center released the following statement:
“Bladen County appreciates all of the support that has been shown for our county throughout Hurricane Florence, and the recovery efforts.
At this time, it is unsafe to travel into the Kelly and Rowan communities, as a mandatory evacuation and curfew is still in effect for these areas at this time.
As soon as the curfew and the evacuation orders are lifted, we will greatly appreciate recovery efforts to continue within these areas.”
