Bladen County Schools will begin its summer feeding program on Monday, June 15, 2020. This year, however, the program will operate slightly differently than in previous years.

Meals will be delivered by bus to designated stop locations throughout the county. Using the same routes and stop times (found at the bottom of this page) as during the COVID-19 school shutdown, buses will deliver breakfast and lunch Monday through Thursday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. On Thursdays, children will receive lunch for that day along with breakfast and lunch for Friday.

School sites that will be preparing the meals for bus delivery are Clarkton School of Discovery, Dublin Primary, East Arcadia Elementary, East Bladen High, Elizabethtown Middle, and Tar Heel Middle.

Meals are available at no cost to children 18 years old or younger.

Bladen County Schools held a Board of Education meeting on Monday, June 8, and streamed it live on YouTube. BladenOnline.com team members were not available at the time of the meeting.

Valerie Newton, Bladen County Schools Public Relations and Information Officer stated, “The streaming is done in a live setting and is only active during the meeting.” She added, “Minutes from monthly board meetings are not available until the following month’s board meeting. The board is required to approve the prior month’s minutes at each meeting.”
