Veteran’s Day is a time to honor and express our gratitude to all the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces to protect our nation. In observance of this important day, Bladen County’s Solid Waste department is making a few adjustments to its regular schedule.

All convenience sites, which play a vital role in the disposal of household waste and recyclables, will be operating on their normal schedule. You can continue to drop off your waste or recycling between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM at these locations, just as you would on any other day.

However, it’s important to note that the Transfer Station will be closed on Friday, November 10, in observance of Veteran’s Day. The Transfer Station is a crucial facility for processing and managing bulk waste and recyclables, and it’s typically open on weekdays.

Brandon Smith, an Accounting Technician with the County of Bladen, emphasizes that this temporary closure of the Transfer Station is a way for the county to pay tribute to our veterans. On this day, we take time to reflect on the sacrifices made by these individuals to protect our freedom and the values we hold dear.

Normal operations at the Transfer Station will resume promptly on Monday, November 13, so residents can plan their waste disposal needs accordingly.

As we commemorate Veteran’s Day, let’s not only honor those who have served but also show our respect by adhering to these schedule changes. The County of Bladen thanks you for your understanding and cooperation, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all veterans for their dedicated service.
