At Cape Fear Valley Health, this Halloween was made even more special as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) babies and their families celebrated with enchanting costumes and heartwarming moments.
Roxana Ross, the Communications Coordinator for Cape Fear Valley Health, shared the remarkable images that captured the essence of this heartwarming Halloween tradition.
In the NICU, where families are already going through a challenging time, the Halloween celebration brings a ray of sunshine. Babies, many of whom were born prematurely and require specialized care, were transformed into the tiniest superheroes, pumpkins, and other adorable characters. Parents and caregivers, along with the dedicated NICU staff, came together to create these miniature ensembles. From pint-sized pumpkins to magical mermaids, the creativity knew no bounds. The costumes were carefully tailored to ensure the comfort and safety of these fragile infants.
