The Force defeated the Thunder 11-10 Monday in Bladen Recreation 11-12 Softball action at County Park.
Winning pitcher Laikyn Rogerson struck out the side in the 1st inning and finished with 5 strikeouts in 2.2 innings. Kaylee Fisher worked 0.1 innings of relief for the Force.
Juliana Autry turned a line drive into an unassisted double play for the Thunder in the home half of the 1st. Anna White, Fisher, Makynzee Thompson, Savannah Ownbey, Ruby Liggitt and Caylee Ownbey all drew walks in the 1st inning, and all of them except White scored for a 5-0 lead.
Delana Phillips slammed a double, and *Kylie Murphy smacked a single in the Thunder 2nd inning. Rylie Dowless and Keira Dowless drew walks and all four of them scored to trim the lead to 5-4.
In the bottom of the inning, Justice Brown, Joleigh Allen, Lilly Wells, Rogerson and Thompson all drew walks, and Fisher belted a single. All 6 of them scored as the lead grew to 11-4.
Rylie Dowless, Phillips, Keira Dowless and Avalyn Tart all drew walks in the Thunder 3rd inning. Samiya McLeod was hit by a pitch, and Murphy laced a single. All 6 of them scored to trim the final margin to 11-10.
Murphy batted 2-for-2 to lead the Thunder hitters, and Phillips doubled. Rylie Dowless and Kayden Jackson pitched 1 inning each for the Thunder, and Jackson struck out 1 batter.
