The Bladen County Shrine Club pronounced their annual fall fish fry a success. The annual event always draws a crowd at the locations in Bladenboro and in Elizabethtown and Wednesday was no exception as folks lined up for plates of hot, fresh fish.

Shriners reported sales were brisk all day and were very appreciative of everyone who stopped and purchased plates. The proceeds from the plate sale will go to support the Shriners Children’s Hospitals where children can receive treatment at no cost to their families. Three Bladen County family have benefitted from the Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals.

“To all of the citizens in Bladen County, we appreciate all of your support. We are extremely grateful for everyone who assisted in making this event successful,” said President Garrett Smith.

He also added that he especially wanted to thank the Masonic Brothers and all of the many volunteers who came together for this event.

“We could not have done this without all of our volunteers,” said Smith.
