The town of Bladenboro is getting a new coffee and ice cream shop called Over Yonder. The shop is operated by Walter West and is located at 114 West Seaboard Street beside Little Oak Boutique, which is operated by West’s wife, Amanda.  Store hours are Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Over Yonder will feature Columbian coffee, hot teas, Hershey’s Premium Ice Cream, and pastries. West said the teas would be similar to brands such as Earl Grey or White Needle as well as the more traditional sweet ice tea and unsweet ice tea. He said the store will offer select coffees including regular coffee, a Hazlenut Cream Coffee and a decaf. There is also a selection of 8 flavored syrups that can be added to coffee or tea.

West said he currently offers 10 flavors of hand dipped Hershey’s Premium Ice Cream but he does have room to offer up to 16 flavors. The flavors are Superman, Butter Pecan, Strawberry, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cotton Candy, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate, Vanilla, Coffee, and Rainbow Sherbert.

There are plans to offer birthday parties and folks are welcome to hold their Bible studies or small group meetings at the shop as well. West is also mulling offering live music and other activities.

“People will come from different places for a good coffee or a good tea,” said West.

The idea was formed when Coffee and Cream closed its doors. West said people would stop by Little Oak Boutique and were upset upon learning the fate of Coffee and Cream.
