TABOR CITY – Senior Malcolm Bolden poured in 21 points Tuesday night to lead East Bladen to a 54-29 non-conference boys’ basketball victory over South Columbus.

Senior Yontee Dobson worked inside for a basket and 2 free throws as the Eagles edged ahead in the opening quarter. Senior Jacob Nixon drilled in a 3-point shot, and Bolden added a basket as East took a 9-6 lead at the quarter break.

Bolden took charge in the 2nd period blistering the nets with 4 baskets and 2 free throws. Nixon buried a pair of 3-point shots, senior Zamar Lewis powered in a basket, and Dobson and sophomore Dominick Collins tacked on free throws as East opened up a 29-15 halftime lead.

Bolden drained a 3-point shot and another basket in the 3rd period. Lewis dropped in 2 baskets, and Collins flipped in a bucket to stretch the lead to 40-22 at the 3rd quarter break.

Sophomore Rodney Lacewell and Bolden pumped in 2 baskets each in the final period. Collins and junior Chris Harding netted a basket each, and Nixon and Dobson sank free throws.

Nixon followed Bolden on the Eagle scoring list with 10 points. Lewis and Dobson totaled 6 points each, and Collins tallied 5 points.

Jamal Brown bombed in four 3-point shots and topped the Stallion scoring list with 13 points.

Coach Aking Elting’s Eagles raised their record to 2-0 and will travel to East Columbus next Wednesday night.
