FAIRMONT – Fairmont rode a 34-point fourth quarter to an 87-78 victory over West Bladen Monday night in a Three Rivers Conference boys basketball game that was suspended in December by condensation water from the air conditioning unit leaking on the floor.

West Bladen held a 26-20 lead in the second period when play was suspended. When play resumed Monday, the Tornadoes used a 16-10 spurt to tie the game 36-36 at halftime.

The Tornadoes edged ahead 53-50 at the third quarter break then outscored the Knights 34-28 in the final period.

Waltay Jackson, a transfer from St. Pauls, topped the Fairmont scoring with 24 points, and Kaheem Pittman followed with 22 points. Teammates Javon Morris and Sharron Wilson added 9 points each.

Junior Tyre Boykin fired in a game-high 26 points for West Bladen. Sophmore Shyron Adams bombed in five 3-pointers and finished with 24 points. Senior Keshawn Lewis pumped in 8 points.

The Knights will host South Columbus Tuesday night.
