TABOR CITY – Junior Kevyn De La Cruz Labra fired in 2 goals and dished out 2 assists Thursday night to lead West Bladen to a 4-1 non-conference boys’ soccer victory over South Columbus.

De La Cruz Labra sent assists to sophomore Jonathan Ortiz-Hernandez and Gerson Verdugo who knocked in the other Knight goals. West Bladen led 3-0 at halftime.

Three shots from De La Cruz Labra and 2 shots by sophomore Jonah Bryan led the Knight attack. Junior Aiden Russ, freshman Alejandro Lopez Sandoval, Verdugo and Ortiz-Hernandez launched 1 shot each.

Junior Bryant Ortiz-Aguilar and sophomore Dylan Hernandez keyed the West defensive effort with 6 steals each. Sophomore James Vasquez-Garcia came up with 4 steals, and junior Brady Durden and Lopez Sandoval had 2 steals each.

Senior Oswaldo Gonzalez-Lopez recorded the victory in goal for the Knights and was credited with 1 save.

Coach Kristen Parker’s Knights, now 4-12, return to Southeastern Athletic Conference play at Red Springs Monday.
