BLADENBORO – Senior Darwin Garcia and freshman Alejandro Lopez Sandoval scored 2 goals each Thursday night to lead West Bladen to a 5-1 non-conference boys’ soccer victory over Heide Trask.
Sophomore Jonah Bryan blasted in a penalty kick for the other Knight goal. Bryan, junior Kevyn De La Cruz Labra and senior Ricardo Rodriguez Gonzalez were credited with 1 assist each. West led 3-0 at halftime.
Junior Aiden Russ and senior Daniel Gustafson keyed the Knight defense with 4 steals each. Sophomore Dylan Hernandez and junior Brady Durden had 3 steals each. Senior Oswaldo Gonzalez-Lopez had 3 saves in goal for West.
The Knights, now 1-1 on the season, will travel to Purnell Swett Monday at 6 p.m.
