Elizabethtown’s Cade Hancock’s attempt to qualify for the North Carolina Amateur Golf Tournament was unsuccessful Wednesday in the qualifier that was played at Walnut Creek Golf Course in Goldsboro.
Hancock shot 39-39=78 to miss the cut by four strokes. His score consisted of 10 pars, 2 birdies, 4 bogeys and 2 double bogeys.
Josh Buxbaum of Wake Forest fired an eight-under par 64 to win the event and qualify for the North Carolina Amateur.
