Today is International Women’s Day. Everyone has a part to play – all the time, everywhere, according to the International Women’s Day website.
As a publication dedicated to celebrating differences and achievements we would like to take the opportunity to recognize some great examples on this Women’s Day.

Bladen County Commissioner, Dr. Ophelia Munn Goins
Voted Bladen’s Best of the Best, Principal, Mrs. Peggy Hester from West Bladen High School
Dr. Amanda Lee, Bladen Community College President
Mrs. Tiina Mundy, Long Leaf Pine award recipient
Mary Caitlin Clark, Voted Bladen’s Best of the Best Fitness Trainer
Young Women like, Emily Scott, Lacey Suggs, and Ja’ Tyra Moore-Peterson Athletes and scholars from Bladen County
Nurses
Teachers
Doctors
Business Owners
Business Leaders
Volunteers
Mom’s that support their children and Mom’s that are gone too soon, but made a big difference!
We have celebrated all these ladies and more. These are only a small amount of the women both young and old to be celebrated in Bladen County.
Recently, on a trip to Asheboro, we stopped in the Aviation and Hall of Fame Museum. There our BladenOnline.com staff found some women aviators to celebrate as well.

Bessie Coleman, Pancho Barnes, Amelia Earhart, Harriet Quimby, and Dr. Sally Ride were all featured in framed photos at the museum. There was even a display in honor of the Women of NASA, a legacy of excellence tribute featured in the museum.
The hash tag to help celebrate International Women’s Day on social media is #IWD2019.
