The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet tonight in regular session at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the Bladen County Courthouse.

The board is to approve the following items in the consent agenda:  the minutes of the April 18, 2017 regular meeting; the minutes of the April 24 2017 special meeting, budget amendments; County Attorney invoices totaling $6,900; a proclamation for Older Americans  Awareness month; a proclamation for National Nurses Week; Spectrum Business Class Agreement for Clarkton and Bridger Memorial Libraries Internet service; resolution for Bladen County’s application for building reuse program grant funding for Project All Star; and an agreement with EMS Management & Consultants to provide medical billing services.

The Commissioners are also scheduled to present two proclamations—one for Older Americans Awareness month and the second in honor of National Nurses Week. The board will also hear a presentation from Hope4NC by Martha Brommel and Ashlee Smith. Following the presentation the board is scheduled to enter session as Water District Board of Directors and consider a letter from the USDA regarding financing of the Phase IV Water System expansion.

The board is also scheduled to hear a budget request from Bladen Community College President Dr. William Findt. Following the request, the board will receive bids for county owned property from Bladen County Tax Administrator Renee Davis. The bids will initiate the beginning of the upset bid process on those properties.

Bladen County Economic Development Director Chuck Huestess will present a set of amended by-laws for the Economic Development Commission to the board. The board will also consider appointing a second Commissioner to the Economic Development Commission Advisory Board.

The board will consider appointments to the Bladenboro Rural Fire District Committee.

Bladen County Manager Greg Martin will present an amendment to the Courthouse security ordinance and the board is expected to schedule a special meeting to discuss Mental Health Services.
