RED SPRINGS – East Bladen’s Jacob Knuth and West Bladen’s Demon’tre Love and Lainey Autry all finished in the top 5 places in their respective races at the Southeastern Athletic Conference’s 4th cross country meet of the season at Red Springs Thursday.
Knuth posted a time of 19 minutes, 8 seconds to finish in 2nd place in the boys’ 5k race. Clinton’s Cristian Cruz beat Knuth to the finish line by only 12 seconds. West Bladen’s Demon’tre Love finished in 3rd place with a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds. Johnny Alvarado captured 8th place for the Eagles with a time of 21:58.
Autry finished the girls’ 5k in 26 minutes, 53 seconds to claim 5th place for West Bladen. Teammate Kirsten Warwick recorded a time of 28 minutes, 59 seconds to take 8th place, and Kaden Thurman took 10th place for the Lady Knights with a time of 29:37.
Brookee Singletary finished 8 seconds behind Thurman in 11th place for West Bladen. East Bladen’s Anna Marie Miranda posted a time of 30:04 that was good enough for 12th place. Midway’s Madiseen Canady won the girls race in 25 minutes, 27 seconds.
Other West Bladen girl runners included: Violet Allen, 16th place (32:00); Olivia Allen, 17th place (32:21). The Knights Jaiden Ward was 35th in the boys race (32:30).
Other East Bladen boy runners were: Hunter Demery, 32nd place (29:43); Ivan Alvarado, 34th place (30:04). The Lady Eagles Brianna Phillips was 29th in the girls race (39:47).
The next Southeastern Athletic Conference meet of the season will be at Midway on October 6th
