D_J_MasonAlthough plagued by foul trouble Monday night, West Bladen grad D. J. Mason tossed in 11 points, but his Campbell Camels were outscored by hot-shooting UNC-Wilmington 106-83 in a non-conference basketball game.

Mason connected on 5 of 7 shots from the field, but was limited to only 20 minutes of playing time, before fouling out with 6:49 left in the game.

The 6-6 senior dropped in a lay-up for an early 6-4 Camel lead, but the Seahawks battled back to take a 41-36 halftime lead.

After a Seahawk 3-point basket began the second half, Mason answered with a lay-up then popped in a jump shot. The Clarkton native slammed in a dunk then added a lay-up to keep the Camels within 49-44 with 17:29 remaining.

A Mason free throw trimmed the margin to 51-47 at the 16:13 mark, but the Camel star picked up his fourth foul with 10:41 left.
