OCEAN ISLE BEACH – Brunswick County defeated Bladen County 18-3 Tuesday in an elimination game in the North Carolina Dixie Boys Baseball State Tournament.
Cole Brisson and Luke Bryant connected for singles for Bladen County. Delton Murdock drove in a run, and Omar Powell walked.
“Our starting pitcher got hurt and then we went downhill,” said Bladen Coach Clint Allen.
The Bladen team was short on pitching depth due to losing another potential pitcher for Tuesday’s game due to a questionable ruling late in Monday’s game.
