DUBLIN – Bladenboro rode an 8-run 1st inning to a 13-5 victory over Tar Heel Tuesday night in the nightcap of a Dixie Ponytails softball double-header, after the 2 teams had battled to a 4-4 tie in the opener.

After Maycee Kinlaw laced a single to right-centerfield and scored the game’s 1st run, Tar Heel answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning.
Ryleigh and Breelyn Peed walked to start the Tar Heel rally. Jayden belted a single, and Brissa slammed a double. Kenly Smeigh and Abby Dicicco were both hit by pitches, and Laikyn Rogerson walked. Ryleigh, Peed, Brissa and Smeigh all scored to put Tar Heel up 4-1.
Camryn Wood smacked a single to start the Bladenboro 2nd. Kynzlee Wood reached base on an error, and Bella Beard walked. Camryn Wood scored to trim lead to 4-2.
Hadley Dove walloped a triple to begin the Bladenboro 4th inning. Bristol Allen walked, and Camryn Wood swatted a single. Dove and Allen both scored to tie the game 4-4.
Camryn Wood batted 2-for-2 to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Dove tripled, and Kinlaw singled. Brissa doubled to lead the Tar Heel hitters, and Peed, Jayden, Smeigh, Hayleigh Simmons, Sierra, Maddie and Emma cracked 1 hit each.
Peed pitched for Tar Heel, and Dove and Kinlaw both pitched for Bladenboro.

Kinlaw, Anna Claire Walters, Allen, Camryn Wood and Beard drew walks in the Bladenboro 1st inning. Dove blasted a 2-run home run. Chloe Walters rapped a single, and Hailii Andrews and Kylee Davenport were both hit by pitches. Kinlaw, Dove, Anna Claire Walters, Allen, Camryn Wood, Beard, Chloe Walters and Andrews all scored to put Bladenboro ahead 8-0.
Kinlaw ripped a double to start the Bladenboro 2nd inning. Dove was hit by a pitch, and Anna Claire Walters drilled a 2-run triple. Camryn Wood reached base on an error and Anna Claire Walters scored to stretch the lead to 11-0.
Simmons led off the Tar Heel 2nd inning with a single. Dicicco walked, and Simmons scored the 1st Tar Heel run on an error.
Andrews, Davenport, Kaydence Moretz and Dove drew walks in the Bladenboro 3rd inning, and Kinlaw drove in Andrews and Davenport with a single.
Ryleigh rapped a single to start the Tar Heel 3rd inning. Peed walked, and Jayden slugged a 2-run triple. Smeigh delivered a single that scored Jayden, and Simmons knocked in Smeigh with a double.
Kinlaw batted 2-for-2 with a double to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Dove clubbed the home run, Anna Claire Walters doubled, and Chloe Walters singled.
Jayden finished 2-2 at the plate with a triple, and Simmons batted 2-for-2 with a double to lead Tar Heel. Ryleigh and Smeigh had 1 hit each.
Kinlaw and Kynzlee Wood split the pitching duties for Bladenboro, while Rogerson and Simmons both pitched for Tar Heel.
