LUMBERTON- East Bladen’s Eagles rolled to a 9-1 victory over Lumberton Thursday night in the first game of their Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball double-header, but the Pirates rallied to squeak out a 3-2 victory in the nightcap.
Spencer Scott pitched the Eagles to the first game victory. Sincere Smith was on the mound for East Bladen in the nightcap.
Quenton Bedsole connected for 2 hits in both games with a double. Devan Stocks hammered a triple and a single in the first game and added a single in the nightcap. Smith walloped a triple and finished with 3 hits in the double-header.
Nick Collins slammed a double and a single in the opening game victory. Kyle Tatum belted hits in both games, and Ty Watkins cracked a single in the opener, and blasted a double in the nightcap.
Coach Ritchie Priest’s Eagles are now 4-2-2 in Dixie Pre-Majors action. The Eagles are scheduled to travel to South Columbus Tuesday at 6 p.m.
