Troy Edge drove in six runs Wednesday night to lead West Bladen to a sweep of a Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball double-header at West Columbus by scores of 5-4 and 9-8.

In Wednesday’s opener, right-hander Trent West carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and picked up the win with 5 innings of work.

Trey Storms relieved West in the sixth and recorded the first two outs, before Scott Bowen came on to get the final out and pick up the save.

Jeremy Hunt belted 2 hits to lead the Knight hitters. Edge knocked in 2 runs with a single, and Jarrett Williams cracked a single.

Hunt pitched the first 3 innings of the nightcap and allowed 3 runs. Edge came on to pitch the fourth inning, and was victimized by a trio of Knight errors that led to a 5-run Viking rally.  Williams closed out the game by working a scoreless fifth inning.

Hunter Pait ignited a 4-run Knight second-inning with a double. Jonathan Ashworth followed with a single, and Ian Sykes smacked a 2-run single.

Hunt legged out an infield hit, and Donald McCullum swatted a single. Edge drove in Sykes and Hunt with a single.

Hunt poked a single to right that began a 5-run West Bladen fourth inning. McCullum laced a double to right-centerfield, and Edge delivered his third 2-run single of the night.

West and Bowen drew walks, and Edge dashed home on a wild pitch. T. J. Gutyon laced a single to center-field that drove in West, and Caleb Sholar beat out an infield hit that plated Bowen with the ninth and deciding run.

Edge finished 2-3 with 4 runs batted in. Pait and McCullum both batted 2-3 with a double each. Sholar, Hunt and Ashworth also turned in 2-3 batting performances with Sholar picking up an rbi.

Sykes contributed the 2-run single, and Guyton cracked the rbi single.

West Bladen improved to 4-2 with the sweep and will travel to East Bladen Monday at 6 p.m.
