The arrival of Hurricane Dorian cancelled Friday night football for this week. With students being out of school Thursday and Friday, no extra-curricular activities could be held.

East Bladen’s Eagles were not affected since they had an open date, but West Bladen had scheduled a non-conference game with Red Springs to fill in the open slot on their schedule created by the closure of South Robeson. That game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The Knights open Three Rivers Conference play next Friday when they will host Fairmont. West Bladen is 0-2 after losses to South Brunswick and North Brunswick, while Fairmont (1-1) opened with a 34-0 shutout of Forest Hills, then lost 48-2 to Grays Creek.

East Bladen opened with losses to perennial powers Wallace-Rose Hill and Clinton and will now begin Three Rivers play at Whiteville next Friday. The Wolfpack (1-1) opened with a 33-7 win over North Brunswick, then dropped a 21-0 decision to West Brunswick.
