The Dublin Peanut Festival Committee has announced an all-you-can-eat fish fry fundraiser that will raise funds for the benefit of the DPF scholarship pageant and the Dublin Peanut Festival. Committee Chair Christy Dowless stated, “We are hoping for a bigger and better event for the community this year.”

The committee usually hosts an oyster roast, but decided to go with a fish fry this year for the most success. The fish fry is scheduled for March 12 from 11 am until 4 pm at Lu Mil General Store. Tickets will be sold prior to the event for $20. To purchase tickets, contact a committee member or send a message to Dublin Peanut Festival’s Facebook or Instagram pages.

A ticket purchase will include whiting, slaw, hush puppies, fresh-baked dessert (compliments of the festival committee), and tea. If you don’t like fish, no problem! Hotdogs and chips will be available for purchase as well.

If you would like to contribute to the event, the DPF committee is accepting donations.

It takes time, money, and dedication to put on events like the Dublin Peanut Festival and the scholarship pageant.  The purpose of this fundraiser is to help make the annual Dublin Peanut Festival and Scholarship Pageant the best that they can be for the benefit of the community. Dowless added, “We would like to invite anyone that would like to be part of our committee to our next meeting on February 24th. We have several open committee member spots.”

If you would like to make a donation to the event, purchase tickets, or ask questions about joining the committee, you can contact Committee Chair Christy Dowless at (910)876-6410.
