CLARKTON –Bladen County exploded for 8 runs in the 1st inning and rolled to a 17-5 victory over Columbus County in the Dixie Youth Baseball District 2 Majors Supplemental Tournament.

Bladen County advances to play Elizabethtown in an elimination game Monday at 7 p.m.

Rylan Bordeaux and Joseph Burney were both hit by pitches to start the Bladen 1st inning. Zee Pone walked and Aidan Thompson launched a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Rylan Bordeaux. Cooper Mills and Jeremiah Bryan both walked, and Tyquan Tisdale was hit by a pitch.

Triton Bordeaux and Allondel Smith both reached base on errors, and Bryson Allen walked. Burney, Pone, Mills, Bryan, Tisdale, Triton Bordeaux and Allen all scored in the inning.

After Columbus answered with a pair of runs, Bladen scored 4 runs in the 2nd inning. Burney and Thompson smacked singles, and Pone, Mills and Bryan drew walks. Tisdale poled a sacrifice fly to center field. Burney, Pone, Thompson and Bryan scored as the lead grew to 12-2.

Bladen added 5 runs in the 3rd inning. Jamel McKiver, Allen and Smith drew walks to start the inning. Burney and Thompson smashed singles, Pone was hit by a pitch, and Mills and Tisdale drew walks. McKiver, Allen, Smith, Burney and Pone all scored to up the count to 17-4.

Pone started on the mound for Bladen County and struck out 3 in his 1.1 innings of work. Mills relieved in the 2nd inning, and Rylan Bordeaux pitched the 3rd inning.

Burney batted 2-for-2 with 3 runs scored for Bladen County. Thompson finished 2-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Pone walked twice and scored 3 runs. Bryan and Allen both walked twice and scored twice. Mills walked 3 times and scored. Rylan Bordeaux, Tisdale, Triton Bordeaux, McKiver and Smith scored 1 run each.
