ELIZABETHTOWN — Hunter Scott and Braydon Clark combined on a one-hitter and West Robeson collected 11 hits Monday night in a 21-0 victory against Elizabethtown in the Dixie Youth Baseball District 9 AAA tournament at Leinwand Park.

In spite of its first loss in the double-elimination tournament, Elizabethtown advances to Wednesday’s championship game against the winner of Tuesday’s game between West Robeson and Fairmont. Games Tuesday and Wednesday are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

West Robeson had a bye earlier in the tournament and has played one less game than Elizabethtown and Fairmont. Fairmont eliminated Red Springs 18-3 Monday.

Scott allowed a first-inning single to Baylor Gooden for Elizabethtown’s lone hit. He struck out one and walked four in 1.1 innings. Clark struck out one and walked one in 1.2 innings. The game was called after three innings because of the 15-run rule.

West Robeson’s defense didn’t make a error, turned a double play off of a line drive in the second and tagged a runner out going to third.

Five Elizabethtown pitchers combined to walk 12 and hit two batters. The defense was charged with five errors.

Zaiden Hunt had a two-run triple and Micah Locklear went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in to lead the West Robeson offense. Axel Locklear had a two-run double.

Elizabethtown loaded the bases with no outs in the second inning, but a line drive double play and a tag out of a runner caught in a rundown between third and home ended the rally.
