ELIZABETHTOWN – Senior Ashley Hardin and junior Sydney Wober fired in 4 goals each Wednesday night to lead unbeaten East Bladen to a 10-0 Three Rivers Conference girls soccer victory over West Columbus.

Hardin and Wober both recorded ‘Hat Tricks’ plus one, and both of them dished out 2 assists. Freshman Maya McDonald and sophmore Katie Evans recorded one assist each.

Junior Patience Ward knocked in a goal and was credited with an assist. “Patience made some excellent runs on the outside for us and put us in good positions to score or earn corner kicks,” said Lady Eagle Coach Jay Raynor.

Sophmore Kenia Medina scored the other East Bladen goal and racked up 3 assists. “Kenia had an unbelievable night in midfield for us which freed up Ashley and Sydney,” said Raynor. “We controlled the game and the middle of the field. The girls played well and knocked the ball around really well.”

Raynor continued, “We were able to get some younger girls minutes due to sickness and injuries. All the girls are improving and I am really proud of our non-starters. Everyone is pushing everyone in training and you can see them all getting better.”

“Lily (Lin) stepped in and did a magnificent job in the back for us,” concluded Raynor. “I feel like everytime we go out we get better and someone steps up.”

The Lady Eagles, now 4-0 in league play and 6-0 overall, will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill Thursday for 5 p.m. non-conference game.
